Wayne Miedema and his wife Judy live in Kitchener.  As a kid, Wayne pumped gas and changed oil at his dad’s garage.  Now, he pumps bike tires and oils bike chains. He and Judy do still have (and share) a family car.  

Wayne says "I believe that the Spirit is at work reconciling people to God and restoring creation to God’s intended design.  And we have the opportunity, the privilege and the responsibility to be a part of this Holy work.

I believe that part of this work is the difficult task of examining my life for areas that continue to be influenced by our culture instead of Christ.  Our culture views the earth, sky and sea and all they contain simply as resources to be extracted and used for comfort, convenience and profit - regardless of the damage to ecosystems or the suffering caused for my neighbour nearby or far away.  I believe God intended for us to view all created things as “co-praisers”.  As the hymn says, “All Thy works shall praise Thy name In earth and sky and sea.”  I also believe that God intended for us to draw from creation in a manner that does not mute its praise and with the goal that there is enough for us, enough for our neighbour, and enough for future generations yet unborn."
